Time to Burn Candle Making Under Canvas

Candle Making Under Canvas

An Evening of Candle Making & Food in the Travelling Josser Restaurant

Tuesday 12th August 2025 7:00 pm - 10:15 pm

We are really excited to be collaborating with Time to Burn to bring a unique, colourful, Summery Candle Making Workshop to Josser Under Canvas on the 12th August.

Think of candle making workshops as a throwback to science class! Guided by Hannah at Time to Burn, guests will learn how to create their very own scent blend using 100% natural essential oils, using the Fragrance Pyramid. You will choose from a wide variety of scents that suit this beautiful Summer season – from Citronella to Basil and Mint to Sandalwood.

Once complete, guests will go away with their very own unique candle, in a jar that has been handmade (yes, made fully by hand in Hannah’s Candle Kitchen!) in a variety of Summer colours, from peach to turquoise.

Not only that but guests will take home a free scented gift bag and some great memories – and Josser will be providing the most delicious light bites to eat while your candle sets. The bar will be open throughout the evening, so while you dine under our canvas, outside on a Summery night, you can indulge with a cocktail or two to round off your fabulous night!

This is a really unique way to spend a Summer’s evening in Cirencester and tickets will be selling fast, so grab yours now!

What Do You Get?

YOUR CANDLE: You will create your own unique summery scented candle made with planet-friendly soy wax and pure natural essential oils. Your natural non-toxic candle will burn for up to 50 hours and will have a lovely crackling wooden wick! The scents for Summer are focused on candles you can burn both indoors and outside, with various natural bug-repelling scents. Plus the handmade candle jars are Summer-coloured, making them perfect for the sunny months!

GIFT BAG: You will also take home a little gift bag, containing unique handcrafted goodies.

DELICIOUS FOOD: Josser Restaurant will be providing light bites while your candles set. We will be sending the menu round closer to the time and we can cater for most dietary requirements. If you have any questions before booking feel free to email Hannah on hello@timetoburncandles.com

THE BAR IS OPEN: you can purchase drinks throughout the night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Due to the materials used guests must be aged 14 and over only please.

This isn’t your average workshop. The candle you create will be completely natural and you can even choose your candle jar out of a variety of colours. Hannah will talk you through every element of the process and it is a wonderful way to spend a summery Saturday morning! You will create your very own scent blend, made out of a choice of 12 essential oils. With Hannah’s help, you will also leave equipped with a good knowledge of how to make your own candles at home.

It is unlikely you will spill any oils or wax as we are working with small quantities and you have all the gear to ensure no spillages! But in the event that you do, you’re welcome to wear something a little less special, so as to avoid getting it dirty! You will be outdoors and it is the UK and the evening, so we advise you bring a little jacket or blanket to keep you warm as the sun sets.

The workshop takes place under canvas at Josser Restaurant, St. Michael’s Park, Cirencester, GL7 2EF

For this particular workshop the bar is open! Drinks can be purchased from the bar at a reasonable cost.

No, we are sorry but all drinks must be purchased from Josser for this event.

There is some free parking on King Street, right outside the church but this is limited. We recommend parking in The Forum Car Park, a 5-minute walk to the park. There are disabled parking bays just outside the park entrance on King Street near our kiosk.

Nothing! Just bring your lovely selves!

Sorry this is a dog-free event, due to the hot wax and expensive essential oils used. We kindly ask that your wonderful pets are left at home, however much we would love to rub their bellies!
